We began with two tireless dreamers from Portland, Oregon.
Andy Powell and Nate Shapiro spent their early days seeking better ways to make architecture, buildings, soft goods and furniture. They met in a collective warehouse studio filled with kindred spirits and creative rabble-rousers, where they forged a friendship founded on curiosity, creative collaboration, and the tireless honing of crafts and capabilities.
In the years since, they have grown their practices to become go-to problem solvers, designing and manufacturing thoughtful, future-facing solutions for the workplaces of the some of the most forward-thinking companies around.
Building in the spirit of these roots, and with the insights gained through decades of creating innovative products, custom furniture systems, and bespoke interiors, they’ve partnered to create a furniture company that will bring our best to workplaces everywhere. We call it Second Space.
